We have several training options available. Lessons are primarily private, with some options for a small class of 4 or less.
Puppy Basics
Prequisites:
- 8 weeks – 8 months of age
This class focuses on American Kennel Club (AKC) S.T.A.R Puppy and Canine Good Citizen (CGC) skills.
Sit, stay, walk nicely on a leash.
Socialization and body handling.
Puppy Basics classes are Thursdays 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Intermediate Obedience
Prerequisites:
- 8 months of age and older.
- Attend a basic obedience class.
This class focuses on Canine Good Citizen (CGC), loose leash walking, wait, leave it, and long sits and downs.
Intermediate Obedience classes are Mondays 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Rally
Dust off your Rally Skills! We’re offering course run throughs and focused work on specific skills for 6 weeks.
Rally classes are Thursdays 4:30 – 5:30
Nosework Classes
Looking for a fun sport for you and your dog? Nosework is the best energy burn and confidence-building activity for the dog and handler.
Our Nosework classes are organized into three levels of six sessions each:
Intro to Nosework
In this course, you’ll engage your dog in a dog driven activity and learn how to understand your dog’s body language.
The course focuses on primary rewards such as toys or treats searching in containers, interiors, exteriors, and vehicles.
Intro to Odor
This course introduces birch across all elements – containers, interiors, exteriors, and vehicles.
Trial Ready Nosework
Trial ready classes are for those teams on odor and wanting to improve their trialing skills.
This course adds new odors and provides practice in more advances searches.
We offer Nosework classes:
- Tuesdays 4:30, 5:30, and 6:30
- Wednesdays 5:30 and 6:30
- Thursdays 4:30 and 5:30
Need somewhere to train?
We hold our training sessions at KBP Dog Training World Headquarters training barn.
The training barn is a 30′ x 40′ finished and climate-controlled former horse barn with everything you need to practice nosework, rally, or obedience.
We don’t use the training barn much during the day so we’re happy to offer it to anyone interested in a new place to work with your dog. The training barn is available to rent for $25/hour on Mondays and Fridays 9 am – 4 pm.
