We’re proud to offer you the best Nosework training options at our state of Iowa Licensed facility.
New to Nosework? We have you covered with our Intro to Nosework, Intro to Odor and Advanced Nosework class plans.
Our sessions will vary between Trial like and practice new challenges to expand your dogs drive. We will focus on your handling skills too.
We have two primary trainers at KBP, Beth McDonald and Paige McDonald.
We have been on our dog journey over 10 years. It started with a crazy Labrodoodle named Maggie. While we had dogs previously Maggie is the one that showed us the value of training and the joys of dog sports.
Our Trainers: Beth
Beth is passionate about Nosework for dogs and is involved with several different organizations:
- NACSW: Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI), Certifying Official (CO), Trial Host, and Judge
- UKC: Trial judge and judge for UKC Premier and Total Dog
- AKC: Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator, Fetch Judge, Farm Dog Judge, and Temperment Evaluator
Beth’s Dogs
Beth has experience handling and training multiple dogs and currently has three.
Chase, a retired Great Pyrenees/ Mastif mix. In his competition days, he achieved his RO3 in UKC Rally, and several Nosework Titles.
Max, her chocolate lab is a therapy dog who has achieved:
- UKC Rally: RO2 working on RO3
- UKC Nosework: working on his Master Grand Champion
- NACSW: working on his Elite 3 title
- AKC Rally: Excellent title
Porter, her black lab is a therapy dog who has achieved:
- UKC Rally: working on his RO1
- UKC Nosework: working on his Elite title and Novice Champion
- NACSW: working on his NW3
- AKC Rally: Novice title, working on his Intermediate title
Our Trainers: Paige
Paige is a recent graduate of Iowa State University, where she was heavily involved in the ACE project and shared her interest in Nosework with several other students. Paige is involved in various organizations:
- NACSW: Trial Host, Volunteer Coordinator
- UKC: Apprentice Nosework Judge
- AKC: CGC Evaluator
Paige’s Dogs
Hazel, her black lab is a therapy dog who has achieved:
- UKC Rally: RO2 working on RO3
- UKC Nosework: working on her Superior Champion
- NACSW: working on her Elite 2 title
- AKC Rally: working on her excellent title
Oakley, her fox red lab:
- UKC Nosework: working on her Superior title
- NACSW: working on her NW2 title
Our Staff: Kent
Kent is CFO and webmaster for KBP Dog Training as well as a Certified Score Room Lead (SRL) for NACSW. He has computer, will travel.
